Beer fest

Note the dog on the right.  Discarded clothes on a rather grubby carpet.  The beer bottle.  The Christmas tree.  Are these two mates who have added something to their friendship?  It seems a genuine picture, not staged.  Why isn't the top (who is for now on the bottom!) more caring of his friend?  Who took the picture?
